The Campaign for Real Ale is a consumer organisation made up of members across the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. With over 160k members and branches in every county and region, we support and promote real ale, cider and perry by campaigning in support of pubs, breweries and beer, cider and perry. This includes lobbying the UK government on behalf of consumers. The Good Beer Guide was originally a guide to finding quality real-ale on tap in pubs in the UK and from its humble beginnings in 1972 has now become an important part of recognising the best pubs, clubs, micro-pubs and bars across the UK. The guide features details of beers as well as a brief description of the pub. All pubs are chosen through a process of beer scoring and visits from CAMRA members. Each region selects the best pubs and these are represented in the guide. Due to Co-Vid19 this edition of the guide has been subject to further processes to ensure that as many pubs as possible have received a fair assessment.
