These essays, mostly by Anglicans from North America, UK, Africa and the Indian subcontinent, supplement the "York Statement" of 1989 (also reprinted here) on Anglican liturgical inculturation. They cover various problems of adapting liturgy, or allowing it to develop, in differing cultural contexts without losing Anglican identity. Examples of particular rites include - circumstances (ineptly related to Christian initiation) in Africa, and an impressive highly controversial workers' May Day Mass in Sri Lanka. A useful introduction for students of liturgy. Theological Book Review, October 1990
