About the Author
Alison Stokes is a Welsh writer and journalist. A former features editor at the South Wales Echo, she specialises in arts, music and real-life stories. She has written three Quick Reads titles, all based on true stories. They are Gun Shy: the true story of the army dog scared of war; Worlds Beyond Words and Be Your Own Boss. She has also co-written several inspirational memoirs, including the international best-seller Old Before My Time with Hayley Okines which was the subject of a Channel 5 Extraordinary People documentary.
