Mike Jenkins is a poet and short story writer from Merthyr Tudful. He is and English teacher in Radyr Comprehensive School. Winner of the Eric Gregory Award in 1979 and Welsh Arts Council's Young Writer's Prize in 1984. He also won the John Tripp Award for Spoken Poetry and 1998 Wales Book of the Year. He is a former editor of Poetry Wales and co-editor of Red Poets' Society.
