From the Back Cover

Yoga is an engaging way to facilitate speech-language development. This pioneering method applies yogic principles and practices to enhance speech-language development in children from birth up to age 12. This book offers yoga-based exercises for improving prelinguistic communication, breath support for speech, motor planning for speech, vocabulary development, symbolic play and emergent literacy. Illustrations of children demonstrating yoga poses enrich the text. No prior experience of yoga is necessary to carry out the activities, which are suitable for a range of ages and abilities. Information on working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders is infused throughout.
