Synopsis

The goddess Maat weighs the dead heart, Removes integument, like a serpent's skin. The flame of love, a feather on the head, Flutters around the trembling soul. This collection of poetry explores the relationship between spirituality and reality, religion and science, life and death, and is rich with Greek mythology. Gods and goddesses are very much alive and present within Templeton's work and the lines are coloured with references to great writers and artists. The result is an imaginative and intelligent selection of poetry which takes delight in life's mysteries.
