About the Authors

Alison Gilchrist has worked for over three decades in community development: as an activist, practitioner, trainer, researcher and manager, including several years at the Community Development Foundation. She now works as an independent consultant.

Emeritus Professor Marilyn Taylor, Professor of Urban Governance and Regeneration, University of West of England Marilyn Taylor teaches in the areas of community involvement in neighbourhood renewal, partnerships, community participation. Her research interests include neighbourhood renewal, civil renewal, accountability, community participation and empowerment, voluntary and community sector role and development.
