Today deer are all around us. No English or Scottish county is without one or other of our six resident species and they are rapidly colonising large areas of Wales. Deer are equally at home snipping at the treasured roses of suburbia, occupying the sprawling forests of the north, or braving the savage conditions of the Scottish mountains. We like to think ourselves as a nation of animal lovers, yet how many people can name the six species of deer that live in the wild in Britain? With the new right-to-roam laws and the increased population of deer, this book is an invaluable guide to anyone exploring the countryside. The deer are there for those who have eyes to see and know what to look for. In "Deer Watch", you can share the lifetime's experience of one of the country's leading Deer experts. Learn how to match your powers of observation against the finely turned senses of some of our most elusive and most beautiful mammals. This book not only provides factual information on one of our most interesting animals, but will help the keen nature lover to see the deer which so often go unnoticed.
