Synopsis
"Double Hit" is an intriguing thriller set in a small country golf club. There is some bad feeling between the members of the club, but no one would have predicted it could lead to murder - and not just one murder! Paul Calvert takes a job as secretary to a golf club where accusations of fraud and cheating are causing extremely bad feeling between some of the members. Then, after a particularly stormy committee meeting, an unpopular committee member is found dead on the green. The police treat the death as an accident, but Paul is not so sure. Paul's suspicions are supported by another committee member, a retired General. Together they set about their own investigation. In the meantime, Paul's life becomes more complicated when he falls in love with the General's daughter. A misunderstanding also looks set to ruin Paul's chances with her. As their investigations continue, Paul and the General uncover a sinister plot involving a crooked antiques ring, blackmail, long-standing grudges and a shady garage owner. Paul finds himself in mortal danger and a second murder occurs. Will Paul survive to unravel the goings on and finally unmask the killer? This book will appeal to all whodunit and thriller readers - and to golf enthusiasts.

About the Author
For his first novel, Alec Wright draws on his experience as a golfer with a single-figure handicap and as Captain of a Sussex golf club. A member of the Society of Authors, he has published non-fiction books and articles in professional journals in the UK and the USA. His most recent non-fiction publication is a history of the national golfing society of one of the major UK banks. Alec Wright lives in East Sussex.
