Synopsis
When Clarissa Hartley discovers her late husband's estate has been left to his son she fears she has lost everything. Only her godmother's son, Luc, Lord Deverill, suspects fraud. Compelled to work closely with the rakish earl, of whom she thoroughly disapproves, Clarissa catches rare glimpses of the compassionate man lurking beneath the indolent facade. But denying any attraction between them and ignoring his autocratic attitude, she takes matters into her own hands. Plunged into a perilous situation by dint of Clarissa's stubbornness, Luc must race against time if he is to rescue her. But can he succeed?
