Synopsis
The Cancer Revolution lays out the territory of the developing science of Integrative Medicine (IM) that can be a resource to those who have, or have had, cancer or indeed those wishing to avoid cancer. IM is an emerging science that combines the use of orthodox approaches such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy with Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies to provide the broadest possible approach to a condition that is largely defying the efforts of orthodox medicine alone. Cancer statistics for the UK, both for incidence and survival, are extremely poor and we languish at the bottom end of the European league table. This book aims to empower people, with an overview of IM from specialists in the field that will enable cancer sufferers to take matters into their own hands and make choices for their own healthcare that have the potential significantly to impact the course of their lives.
