An awesome story of a truly epic journey in a 50-year old Mini covering 11,063km in 37 days, once I started this book I simply could not put it down simply wanting to know what happens next. This is the story of an independent trek all the way to the Great Pyramid and back- with no assistance or support crew, to provide much needed funds and publicity for the Willow foundation. Inspirational to others, the book incudes practical advice on the car preparation and documentation required for such marathon drives, along with photographs of the Mini's preparation and the amazing journey itself. The story starts with the transformation of a barn find into a long-distance champion where the Classic mini drives to Asia-Minor- a real Mini adventure. We learn about the planning of the route to documentation and visa issues mid journey! About the Author:

Having spent countless hours as a child travelling the world, visiting forgotten civilizations and witnessing heroic battles from the safety of an armchair, head buried deep in a book, Nicky West's wanderlust finally stretched its wings in 1998, when she was asked to navigate on the Dash to Marrakesh Rally. Bitten by the travel bug, Nicky has since competed with husband/driver Rob Stacey in such historic events as the Monte Carlo and Acropolis rallies. An engineer from Hertfordshire where Willow Foundation is based, Nicky took on the enormous challenge of the Egypt expedition to provide special days for critically ill young people.
