Eating fruit is good for you and an essential part of your "five a day." Growing your own is even better.
The perfect companion book to Grow Your Own Vegetables, (which sold 6,500 copies in its first two months of publication), Grow Your Own Fruit is the second offering from Carol Klein, who once again offers impeccable advice on growing the freshest, most nutritious and organic fruit.
In Grow Your Own Fruit, expert gardener Carol Klein reveals the skills you need to nurture 40 different fruits from plot to plate. With her usual energy and enthusiasm, Klein offers green-thumbed advice for growing all your appetizing favorites plus less familiar fruits such as lemons, figs, blueberries and cranberries. Her approach is environmentally friendly and easy.
The book is beautifully photographed and printed on wood-free matte paper. It includes information on growing fruit in all environments - whether planting in a garden, communal plot, raised bed, container, or window box. An ideal gift for beginners and experienced gardeners alike - this inspirational book is packed full of wisdom, making it an indispensable fruit reference for every gardener's bookshelf.

Best known as co-presenter of BBC Gardeners' World, Carol Klein is an internationally renowned gardener. Mancunian Carol moved to Devon with her husband in the late 1970s to have a family and start a garden. One of their aims was to grow their own fruit and veg.
Carol's love for plants led her to propagate, and eventually, sell them. From humble beginnings at Barnstaple Pannier Market, her nursery Glebe Cottage Plants went on to exhibit at major RHS flower shows including The Chelsea Flower Show where she won many awards including six Chelsea Golds. Her exhibits were lauded for their ground-breaking originality.
She has presented numerous innovative and influential TV gardening series, including Grow Your Own Veg, Life in a Cottage Garden, Plant Odysseys and Great British Gardens, winning four Garden Media Guild 'Broadcast of the Year' awards. In 2018 the RHS awarded her their highest honour The Victoria Medal of Honour. In 2019 she was awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award by the GMG. She has written for most of the national newspapers and gardening magazines including Garden News and Gardeners' World Magazine. Her many books include RHS Grow Your Own Veg which became the best-selling gardening book for two consecutive years, selling more than 150,000 copies as tracked by Nielsen TCM.
