Tombs & Monuments is a moving and poignant celebration that ranges from Saxon graves to the shrine where D.H. Lawrence is buried in Taos, New Mexico and even the memorial windows in a Gloucestershire church commemorating the Rev. Awdry, creator of Thomas the Tank Engine. There are superb photographs of the tomb of the 14th-century knight Sir John Marmion in a little parish church in Yorkshire, of T.E. Lawrence's tomb in Wareham, Dorset, of the beautiful memorial to the fallen of the First World War at Swaffham Prior in Cambridgeshire, and the strange Cadaver Tombs from the time of the Black Death, in East Anglia. As with all Mike Harding's little books, this is a beautiful little gift book as well as an erudite monograph, at a superbly competitive impulse-buy price. Mike Harding is a comedian and radio broadcaster who has a weekly show on Radio 2 on folk music and presents the annual British Folk Awards. He lives in West Yorkshire.

About the Author
Mike Harding is the author of A Guide to Tying North Country Flies and eight Little Books for Aurum, including the perennially successful books on the Green Man and Gargoyles. He is also a high-profile radio presenter with his weekly folk music show on BBC Radio 2, and hosts the annual BBC Folk Awards. He lives in West Yorkshire.
