The region of the Balkans has become one of the emblematic features of the post-Cold War geography of international relations. About the Author

Emilian Kavalski is NAWA Chair Professor of Complex Systems at Jagiellonian University, Poland. His research focuses on European politics, especially the enlargement, common foreign and security policy, and external relations of the EU, as well as on the interactions between China, India and the European Union in Central Asia. He has published several books, including India and Central Asia: The Mythmaking and International Relations of a Rising Power (I.B.Tauris, 2010).
