It hardly seems possible that this 96 page book can contain such a variety of techniques, styles, exercises and examples!
In the introduction, Eddie tells us that, "Results may be loose and spontaneous, tight and considered or maybe abstracted, depending on the day, my mood and the model!" and this is certainly the case here.
Such variety inevitably means that each section is covered very quickly, but it also means that it's not laboured. As this is a Masterclass, this is something to be celebrated, and experienced readers will find that there is so much visual stimulation that it's impossible not to be inspired at virtually every turn.
Eddie works in pencil, ballpoint, wax crayon and charcoal and in both fine lines and blocks of tone to create images that capture the character and shape of the sitter in as few strokes as possible.
The biographical notes tell us that Eddie is also a musician, and there is a lyrical quality to his work that perhaps originates here

I love this book for the way it celebrates the human form and, once again, Search Press are right on the button with their choice of author. --Artbookreview.net
After graduating from art school in 1975, Eddie Armer had a thirty-year career as a graphic designer, but during this time, life drawing was a routine practice for him. In 2005 he decided to give up his design career to concentrate full-time on his two great loves, music and art. Eddie formed the Tudeley Art Group in 2003 and has tutored and run many life drawing workshops in London, Kent and Italy (Tuscany) and at prestigious venues such as the Topolski Centre and the Courtauld Institute. His love of music, art and design have taken him to America, Brazil, Italy, Hong Kong, Finland and Sri Lanka. Eddie lives in Kent.
