Richard Box is a practising artist and professional embroiderer. He studied painting at Goldsmiths School of Art in London. Soon afterwards he developed a love of textiles, which led him to experiment with machine embroidery and fabric collage. He spends his time teaching and lecturing on both of his two areas of expertise. He has written a number of books on art instruction and embroidery, he has appeared on television and he writes regularly for specialist magazines.
Denis John-Naylor studied natural history illustration at Bournemouth College of Art and wildlife painting, printmaking and life drawing at Swansea Institute. Denis also studied life drawing and painting privately under some well-known contemporary artists. In recent years he has won awards for portrait and plein-air painting. Over the years, he has contributed numerous articles to the Leisure Painter magazine on pencil drawing and acrylic painting. Hobbies include reading biographies and listening to music. Denis lives in Hornchurch, Essex.
Carole Massey was born in Hertfordshire and studied at St. Alban's School of Art and Leicester School of Art & Design. Carole's work is exhibited widely, and she is particularly known for her celebrity portraits, mostly inspired by photographs.
