Review

Feb/Mar 07 I love using crystals in my beading but I don't like very flashy or big jewellery so sometimes I find it hard to find designs that suit my taste but still have some sparkle. So I was very pleased when I got this book. I really like the range of different projects; I counted over 50 different ones including rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, chokers, brooches, pendants and hair slides, with lots of variation for inspiration. I also liked that there are lots of sets so you can make earrings, bracelets and anecklace to match for example. I like this as sometimes I like a design but don't always want to make necklaces, so it's nice to have a choice. A lot of the projects use very little beads, which is nice as it means that nothing is going to be too expensive, which is always a worry when you're using lots of crystals. There are lots of clear diagrams and pictures so I had no trouble following any of the instructions. My only complaint was that a lot of the projects use crystals set in metal findings and there is no suppoiers list for where to get these. I think the original bookis French so that may be why. But I would still recommend this book and I will definitely be making lots from it. Jasmine Jones * Bead *
