Mar 06 This is a new venture for Search Press - images from their Design Source books on CD. The CD contains an index in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format which contains thumbnails of all the images and the images themselves are TIFFs (suitable for PCs or Macs) in a separate folder. Since we are encouraged to browse using, for example, Windows Explorer, the purpose of the PDF index is not clear. This CD contained 90-odd images. Reproduction of the images is permitted but not for commercial use - fair enough. The images themselves are large and, although readable in newer paint programs, we experienced difficulty testing Paint Shop Pro versions earlier than 8. Since many people still use version 7, this may lead to problems. The answer is to read the desired image in Windows Paint and re-save it (still as TIFF). This CDROM is a good idea, especially for those of us who design on the computer. The images are clear and prove a good starting point for design. A very good price, too - great for a mini gift. * Workshop On The Web *About the Author:
