About the Author

Steve Ahnael Nobel is a personal and business coach and NLP master practitioner.
He has many years’ experience as a group facilitator, consultant, and writing mentor. For 13 years, Steve was a co-director of Alternatives, a not-for-profit organization based in St. James Church, London, which promotes self-help and spiritual author events. Between January 2000 and December 2012, Steve helped organize over 1300 author events for Alternatives.

Steve is the author of four published non-fiction books. Steve now leads
writing workshops and retreats around the United Kingdom and Europe. He is
also a certified British Fencing Coach (Level 1).

This book is about personal transitions, which are those powerful time when our life completely shifts. It does not matter whether this shift has been self-initiated or initiated by outer circumstances, the effect is the same. We enter into a period of uncertaintly, chaos and confusion and we cannot be sure of the outcome of the journey. These times can herald a powerful spiritual awakening. This is because of the time frame we are in. Many are being called into a powerful transition process because the world is going through transition. Personal and planetary transition are intertwined. We are not separate from the planet. For the planet to take its next evolutionary we must do the same. Therefore a personal transition is an evolutionary step that can involve a massive shift in consciousness.

The experience of a personal transition will differ from person to person. The author's most recent transition began in March 2010 with a spontaneous Kundalini experience. This was followed by a dark night of the soul experience. During this time he started to write about his experience and also documented the stories of many others going through a similarly confusing life shift.

Personal Transitions is a guide that talks about three types of transition:
Smooth (where a transition is consciously chosen and embraced) which can feel like exploring a country or continent for the first time. There is a sense of adventure and wonder;
Rough (where the transition is resisted and shows up as an external crisis) which can feel like being tossed in a boat in some great stormy sea with no sign of land in sight;
Super-Rough (where the transition is resisted and shows up as an existential crisis) which can feel like being shipwrecked or marooned on some alien shore.

Although there are three different types of transition, they all have the same structure and progress in the same way. Every personal transition journey is experienced in five phases and this book describes each of these important stages of the personal transition process:
1. Soul Tension where we feel the build up of inner and outer forces that will eventually kick off the process in earnest;
2. Choice-Crisis where we either consciously embrace the journey or are catapulted into the process whether we like it or not. A crisis can also come when we make a bad or reactionary choice;
3. Release where many of the inner and outer anchors of our lives start to disappear, so friends and possessions leave just as easily as beliefs and values and an old sense of identity;
4. Recalibration which is essentially the transformational bit of the whole process, here we are in limbo, the old has not fully left and the new has not yet begun. This is like the caterpillar waiting in the void of the cocoon waiting for rebirth. Our core vibration is being altered which will stabilise in the next phase;
5. Renewal where the new phase of life eventually kicks off and we spread our wings and learn the game rules of a new reality. This is where a new sense of flow and spiritual connection can emerge.
