Synopsis

'You shouldn't have come to Germany, asshole!' To Marcos Mason, these chilling words from the reigning IBF Super-Middleweight world boxing champion mean only one thing: I must get the title off him. Everything's at stake for Marcos when he travels with his trainer, Dave, and best mate Scott to a rural hideaway in Bavaria to train for the big fight. And when he and the ice-cool German touch gloves in a packed Olympic Halle, it's crystal clear that a momentous struggle is under way. With the action moving swiftly from Birmingham to the Bavarian mountains and finally Munich, Marcos Perry's fact-based novel takes us right into the ring: the sweat, the slog, the pain, the fear ('Use it - like fire!'), the roar of the crowd and the elusive sweetness of victory. Marcos Perry was born in Birmingham, England in 1971. Since July 2003 he has lived in Aberystwyth, Wales. Finding My Own North Star is his first novel.
