About the Authors

Gale R. Owen-Crocker is Professor Emerita of the University of Manchester where she was previously Professor of Anglo-Saxon Culture and Director of the Manchester Centre for Anglo-Saxon Studies.

MARK HAGGER is a senior fellow of the University of Lincoln. He is the author of William: King and Conqueror (London, 2012) and Norman Rule in Normandy, 911-1144 (Woodbrdge, 2017), and is currently working on a new biography of Henry I for the Yale English Monarchs series.

RYAN LAVELLE is Professor of Early Medieval History in the Department of History at the University of Winchester.

S. D. CHURCH is Professor of Medieval Studies at the University of Lincoln and Emeritus Professor of Medieval History at the University of East Anglia.
