Mary Hammond is one of the most significant figures in the musical-theatre world. She is a vocal consultant to Cameron Mackintosh Ltd, The Really Useful Group, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre and many leading West-End producers. She has coached stars on many of the world's best-known shows Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Joseph, Billy Elliot The Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mamma Mia! and We Will Rock You worked extensively in film and television and coached a wide range of pop musicians, including Coldplay and Dido. Mary founded the post-graduate Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music. Drawing not only on her extensive experience as a singer (ranging from opera at Covent Garden to gigs with Pink Floyd), but also her expertise in voice science and vocal techniques, the Academy course has established itself as a training ground for many leading musical-theatre stars.
