About the Author

Jeff Toghill graduated from the School of Navigation, Southampton University, and travelled the world as a navigation officer on a variety of ships. He has conducted sailing and navigation schools in Sydney for over 25 years and has worked as a marine consultant and as an adviser and expert witness in marine litigation. Toghill has written for numerous publications and is the author of over 70 books, mostly relating to boating and other maritime activities. New Holland has published several of his books, including Coastal Navigation, The Essential Boat Maintenance Manual and Traditional and Electronic Navigation.
