About the Author

Jeff Toghill graduated from the School of Navigation, Southampton University, and travelled the world as a navigating officer on a variety of ships. He has conducted sailing and navigation schools in Sydney for over 25 years, has written for numerous publications and has worked as a marine consultant. Jeff now spends most of his time as an adviser and expert witness in marine litigation. He is the author of over 60 books, mostly relating to yachting and other maritime activities. New Holland Publishers has published two of his books: Celestial Navigation (Australia) and The Essential Boat Maintenance Manual (UK).
