Synopsis
In a deep, dark place under the earth ancient magic stirred.
A wizard was waking.
Arty is on a school trip to Merlin’s Hill near Carmarthen when he meets a strange old man claiming to be the great wizard himself.
Arty is convinced of the old man’s identity when he is magically whisked off on a dangerous and exciting whirlwind trip around Wales in search of King Arthur.
A fierce red dragon, a terrible and angry giant boar and a very grumpy giant are some of the magical characters from Welsh myth and legend that they encounter on their journey.
Through his adventures with the great wizard, Arty discovers that not everyone is a hero, but anyone can become one, and the world is full of magic.

About the Author
This is Graham Howells's first book as an author and illustrator. He was born in Pembrokeshire, but now lives in Llanelli with his young family. He won a global award for his outstanding illustrations in the publication Fabulous Celtic Beasts.
