Synopsis
This report summarizes the findings of a study of large, independent neighbourhood-based regeneration organizations. Based on a study built on previous work commissioned by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, it considers the contribution of large neighbourhood organizations towards tackling social exclusion and asks whether models of neighbourhood organizations can be matched to particular types of disadvantaged neighbourhoods. The report provides useful guidelines about selecting the most appropriate model of community regeneration organization and makes recommendations for changes to funding arrangements, regulatory frameworks and government policies.
