Originally published in 1984, this autobiography of one of the select band of fighter pilots who flew throughout World War II describes flying Spitfires with 66 Squadron during Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain and then with 41, 91, 72 and 222 Squadrons. Moving to the desert with 72 Squadron, after Sicily he became leader of 24 Wing shortly before D-Day, and was still flying operationally one week before the war ended.
