From the designer renowned for his use of natural materials in his meticulous, yet sensual clothes and interiors, this is a study of John Rocha's design philosophy and influences. For John Rocha, design is about balance, beauty and the understanding of the organic state, whether this is fabric, glass, wood or stone. His collections are explored in these terms to form a coherent philosophy linking his clothes and home collections, his architectural and interior designs. John is renowned for his union of contrasting textures and muted colours, marrying age-old materials and techniques with more contemporary shapes.

About the Author
John Rocha was awarded a CBE in 2002 and British Designer of the Year in 1994. In 1997, he launched 'John Rocha at Waterford Crystal'. John has also moved into interiors, collaborating in the design of the interior of the Morrison Hotel in Dublin, as well as designing residential projects in Dublin, Liverpool and Cheshire. He has also launched a clothing collection, Rocha.John Rocha at Debenhams.
