Synopsis
We choose for the first English volume part 10 of the Arabic series of books called ‘The Friday Lessons at al-Azhar’. These are a subset of transcribed lessons that were given by Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Ja'farī in the courtyard of al-Ahzar over several years. These lessons of the shaykh were brimming with secrets and lights, and would direct the attention of the listeners to the Qur'ān’s eloquence, while going through all of the other sciences that serve the tafsīr of the Qur'ān, such as logic, philosophy, Ḥadīth sciences, theology, the Prophetic biography ﷺ, and Islamic history.
