He describes what actually happens in a race, what it feels like in the boat, the tactics involved and choices that have to be made. About the Author

David Martin Hickey was born and educated in Ireland. Following a degree in Business Studies (and rowing) at Trinity College Dublin, he subsequently qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG. Currently he is the chairman of, and significant investor in, three companies located in Ireland, London and Newcastle. He lives in Wimbledon.
