In the third adventure, there are two Scotch the Scare-go stories. Firstly he helps children in hospital overcome their fears by teaching them a lovely rhyme. Then secondly helps a group of friends who get cut off by the tide on the rocks on the beach. Parents with children who might be reluctant to learn to swim will be helped by this story and of course, there is the familiar piece of tartan included as a keep-sake. Scotch is not a ‘superhero’ who fixes a problem, or gets the child out of a scrape, but rather more like a guardian angel who empowers the child to find their own solution and overcome their fear.
