The definitive manual for mastering Azure Well Architected Framework, improving your optimization skills, and enhancing the quality of workloads
It’s easy to learn and deploy resources in Microsoft Azure, thanks to Microsoft’s meticulous documentation. When we deploy resources in Azure to learn and explore the platform, we don’t need to be concerned about the best practices or resource optimization. However, when it comes to production or mission critical workloads, it’s very crucial that we follow the best practices for resource deployment to attain security, reliability, operational excellence and performance. Apart from these aspects, we should take the cost into consideration, as this is one of the reasons behind every organization’s cloud transformation.
In this book, you will learn how to leverage the Microsoft’s Well Architected Framework to optimize our workloads in Azure. Well Architected Framework is a set of recommended practices developed by Microsoft based on five aligned pillars. The pillars are Cost Optimization, Performance, Reliability, Operational Excellence and Security. You will take a deep dive of each of these pillars and see how we can perform an assessment to determine the quality of our existing workloads.
During the journey, we will cover different design patterns and procedures related to each of the Well Architected Framework pillars. By the end of this book, you should be able to collect and assess data from an Azure environment and then perform necessary upturn of your Azure workloads.
The targeted audience for this book is developers, cloud solution architects, cloud administrators and professional who have knowledge in design, implementation and management of Azure resources. Professional who aspire to learn cloud optimization or take up a role related to architecture can also benefit from reading the book. It’s recommended that the readers of this book have intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Azure platform and services. Experience in implementing or designing solutions in Azure is a plus but not mandatory.
