Synopsis

James Moore, a thirty-six-year-old prominent scientist, is invited to an exclusive gentlemen's club in the redwood forests just north of San Francisco, and inadvertently becomes embroiled in a conflict that explodes into violence. The Covenant is a venture capitol firm willing to forgive his past transgressions to own and so reap the rewards of this new technology; but they want to manipulate its use for profit, and this is something James and Marianne will not tolerate.

He would live out many parts of the novels as if a future-echo came to call, and if his mind could be read, it would be impossible to distinguish what is his principal character James and what is Nigel.
