Synopsis

Carrie is a young woman who freeloads her way through life. Embittered by religion and the way men have treated her, she uses her body as her meal ticket to survive. She meets Rob in the middle of an April cloud burst and he is different. A recovering alcoholic and sex addict, he won't take the chance of sleeping with her in case he lapses into old habits. And yet he allows her to stay in his house. Carrie is confused. What is it that makes him able to resist her? Why is he so kind to her? Was his past really as dark as he claimed it to have been? Above all, how can he say that God exists when surely science disproved that years ago? Carrie wants answers. She taunts him and provokes him searching for a reaction, but nothing seems to press his buttons. By contrast his words and actions challenge her and eventually anger her to such an extent that she runs away - but now something much darker awaits her...

This is Roger Winn's first book and it has taken him years to put it down on paper; as a result, he is nearly at retirement age. He lives in South Wales and has two adult daughters and a granddaughter. Roger Winn loves his day job which is teaching people how to drive. Away from his car, music, books and hill walking are his ways to relax.
