Synopsis

357 Days a Year is Phillip G Mackey's enthralling, fascinating and humorous recount of his year-long global travels. Starting in China it follows his exploits through South-East Asia, Australasia and the Americas that incorporate many different countries and their ideals along the way. Phillip details life-enriching experiences in his captivating memoir, undertaken in a bid to learn new things, make a new start and bring positivity in his life as well as others. ‘I had dropped an invisible ball and chain and decided to go for broke and take a chance on life, living and not only being but feeling alive' 'it was a risk but in the grand scheme of things everything was a risk...' With money saved over a few years, Phillip left, threw caution to the wind; booked flights, created itineraries and left everything behind for thrill seeking activities, educational programs and vocational achievements to find a new direction in life, but by the end he was left with much more, having encountered different unique cultures, had eye-opening adventures and formed poignant friendships along with feeling the first-hand humility that comes from being around those who may have much less in life, yet can still exude happiness.
