About the Author

Emma Swift is a trust-wide subject lead for a multi academy trust, specialising in science and initial teacher training. She is the subject lead for Physics for the National Institute of Teaching and Education at the University of Coventry. Emma was awarded The Lloyds Register Educational Trust award for the UK’s best STEM teacher in 2012.

Natalie Chilvers is a trust wide subject lead for a multi academy trust, specialising in science and health and safety. Natalie is the Lead subject tutor for PGCE Biology at the National Institute of Teaching and Education. In 2018 Natalie was a finalist for the Royal Society of Biology's, Biology Teacher of the Year.
