I was blessed to be invited to Saviours’ Day in 1960. It was the most exciting day of my life; seeing and hearing the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Shortly after, I began processing I received my X. Soon afterwards, I was hired by our National Clothing Factory where I worked as a fabric cutter. Months later a sister who worked for The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad informed me that he needed another sister who could cook. I told her I could not cook very well. Weeks later, to my surprise, he sent for and interviewed me. I was hired by The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and worked very hard to learn and be the best cook I could become. I remained a faithful cook for him until his departure in 1975. His last words to me were: “May Allah bless and keep you until we meet again.”
