What constitutes a moral, Christian character, and the psychological aspects of leading a Christian life, are examples of topics tackled in this all-embracing work. The role of prophecy and revelation, the Holy Trinity, and the various ways God makes Himself known in the lives of believers are examined.

Edgar Young Mullins worked as a Bible teacher for decades, and in his spare time studied ancient texts of the church. The many years of experience he had divulging the lessons of Jesus, and the teachings of the wider Bible, prompted him to author works both modest and lengthy in size. Mullins was a great believer in the clarity of language; throughout this text, he seeks to express and explain topics that might otherwise be shrouded in difficult phrasing and complex concepts.
