Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontė were not prolific novelists, but those that they did write have become some of the best-loved works in English literature. Collected together here are six titles, beautifully bound, that make the perfect introduction to the sisters' work. They include: Jane Eyre (448pp); Agnes Grey (192pp); Villette (480pp); Wuthering Heights (272pp); The Professor (208pp) and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (432pp). Moving from the wilds of Yorkshire to small-town France, these are tales of passion and romance.

Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontė were the daughters of an Anglican clergyman, Patrick, who was rector of the Yorkshire parish of Haworth. All three worked, at various times, as teachers and these experiences, together with living close to the Yorkshire moors, informed their work. Of the three, only Charlotte married. Both her sisters had already died of tuberculosis as had their brother Bramwell.
Born on the 17th of January 1820, Anne Bronte was one of six children and the youngest of the Bronte sisters. Her first novel, Agnes Grey, was inspired by five years spent working as a governess, and proved itself a commercial success. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Anne's second and final novel, was published the following summer in 1848. Anne died shortly after, on the 28th of May 1849, while convalescing from tuberculosis at Scarborough.
