About the Authors
Neil Wilson nació en Escocia donde ha residido buena parte de su vida. Vive en Perthshire y ha sido escritor a tiempo completo desde 1988, trabajando en más de 80 guías para diferentes editoriales, incluidos los títulos de Lonely Planet de países como Escocia, Inglaterra, Irlanda y Praga. Entusiasta de las actividades al aire libre, desde niño Neil es un activo senderista, ciclista de montaña, marinero, snowboarder, pescador de caña y escalador, y ha subido y recorrido a pie los cuatro continentes, incluidos los ascensos al Jebel Toubkal (Marruecos), el monte Kinabalu (Borneo), el Old Man of Hoy en las Islas Orcadas (Escocia) y la cara noreste del Half Dome en el valle de Yosemite (California). Como la mayoría de autores de Lonely Planet, Neil entró en la edición de guías de viaje por accidente. Lo de estar sin blanca fue fácil. Como escritor, empezó redactando artículos para una revista escocesa, si bien pronto salió a fotografiar Corfú para una guía de viajes. Desde entonces, Neil ha escrito y ha hecho fotografías para docenas de guías de varias editoriales.
Andy Symington ha escrito o colaborado en más de cien guías y otras actualizaciones de Lonely Planet (sobre todo en Europa y Latinoamérica) y otras editoriales, y ha publicado artículos sobre múltiples temas en periódicos, revistas y sitios web. Copropietario de un bar de rock, es autor de una novela y en la actualidad tiene diversos proyectos de ficción y no ficción. Este australiano se trasladó al norte de España hace ya muchos años, y cuando no está de viaje con su mochila en algún remoto rincón del planeta, muy probablemente esté viendo partidos de su pésimo equipo local o tomando unos vinos tras un largo paseo por el monte.
