About the Author

Yoo Min-Jung is Lecturer in the School of Engineering of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), where she teaches advanced courses in production management, simulation and optimization technologies at the graduate level of Mechanical Engineering and Management of Technology. She received her doctorate in Computer Science — Artificial Intelligence — from the University of Paris 6. Her research domains include production and supply chain optimisation, semantic modelling and Internet of Things for product-service lifecycle management. Prior to the EPFL, she was Assistant Professor at the HEC — University of Lausanne, teaching courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels of Management Science and Business Information System.

Rémy Glardon is Honorary Professor of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne where he founded and directed of the Laboratory for Production Management and Processes. He owns a Master in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne. After his graduate studies at EPFL, he spent several years as a postdoc at UC-Berkeley. He then moved to industry and occupied management positions in Operations and Supply Chain Management. His main interests are related to the design, configuration and strategic, tactical & operational management of value adding networks. Rémy Glardon has initiated and completed several research and consulting projects with private companies in these areas, aiming at improving the cost/performance ratio in operations management. He is the co-founder and managing partner of the consulting company Ipros.
