About the Authors

Paul Cilia La Corte (MBACP) is an integrative counsellor who holds a Masters in Refugee Care from the University of Essex. Paul is a senior therapist at Refugee Council and coordinates the men's therapeutic services. Over the last 5 years Paul has been working closely with Angelina to develop a specialised therapeutic framework that is culturally competent. This emphasises a psychosocial approach that is tailored to respond to the multiple and complex needs of asylum seekers and refugees.

Angelina Jalonen (MBACP) is an integrative counsellor and therapeutic supervisor who holds a Masters in Refugee Care from the University of Essex. Angelina regularly lectures at universities on effective ways of working with asylum seekers and refugees.
