When hand-drawing type, you generally don't need to worry too much about having a good knowledge of typography, although it helps to know the rules before breaking them. This book will give you some insights into the characteristics and anatomy of type, while giving you the space to play by your own rules.

About the Author
Lee Suttey completed his degree in illustration at Portsmouth University, gaining a first class BA (Hons). He then continued his education with a masters in sequential design and illustration, before going on to work for various multimedia and graphic design agencies. He now works as a freelance graphic designer for print and screen under the name Visual Function.
Lee has also taken part in a touring exhibition with his Artist Book work called Changing Pages, curated by the Collins Gallery.
He loves using his sketchbooks and drawing to generate ideas, and this is where his love of hand-drawn type originates.
