John Humphries is a former newspaper editor, investigative journalist and foreign correspondent living and working in Wales. This is his sixth book but his first novel. His focus is historical investigation, drawing upon previously unknown sources to shed new light on events - ranging from the Chartist Uprising in Newport (1839), Welsh involvement in the Mexican Revolution (1911) and Wales' Secret War (1963-1993). Several of his books have been published internationally, the most recent in Brazil in Portuguese - his account of how a retired Welsh police officer double-crossed Hitler.
