The author is currently head of Economic Development at Cardiff Council. From a rugby perspective he was capped for Wales at secondary school level, and also represented Welsh universities and played first class rugby for Cardiff, Pontypridd and Glamorgan Wanderers before returning to play second class rugby with Old Illtydian. He has played alongside many famous players: Gareth Edwards, Gerald Davies, Gareth Davies, Brynmor Williams and Tom David.
