Synopsis

Blowing up a wasps' nest, preparing a field with an ancient tractor, burying an Austin Seven - if you thought landscaping and nursery work was straight forward then think again. In A Slice of Life David G. Cox takes the reader on a gentle journey working on the land with his father and his quirky employees. Used to adapting to any job they work their poor old truck into the ground, carrying fast-setting cement and heavy machinery and in the event of accidents using wood and hammers to knock everything back into shape. And at the back, pulling the strings, is the 'Old Man', David's father, tough in an old-school way and yet man enough to be won over by a kitten. A must buy for those in love with country ways.
