About the Authors

Ruth Symons is the author of several children's books, including A Year in the Wild, Christmas Lights, the Paper World series and the Sophie la girafe board books. When she's not writing and editing, Ruth loves gardening, hiking and hosting elaborate teddy bear tea parties with her young daughter.

Graham Carter is a graduate of London's Central Saint Martins and Brighton University, and has been critically acclaimed for his illustrations and print-making. In 2008 he founded Boxbird Gallery, and he still works from their studio space in Hove, where he can often be found getting messy with inks and printing new work. Graham currently lives in Seaford with his wife Alice, son Noah and Mr Bojangles the cat.
