Synopsis
The day the locust horde emerged from beneath the surface of the Sera and killed his parents, Damon Baird enlisted in the Coalition of Ordered Governments military. Between bloody battles and defending mankind from the monstrous enemy, he chronicled his experiences and thoughts in this COG-issued journal. Baird's ruminations on the Locust forces, the deterioration of his society, and his decision to take his unit rouge reveal the stark reality of serving in the 4th Ephyra Light Infantry, Kilo Squad. His riveting entries are accompanied by sketches and humorous marginal notes, as well as scrapbooked items form his world - candy bar wrappers, government propaganda, official documents, newspaper and magazine clippings, and children's drawings found on the streets of Sera - all of which provide a powerful firsthand glimpse into life in the immediate, life-altering aftermath of the Emergence Day.
