Well it all happened (most of it anyway) in Slapton Sands, Devon, in 1944. Based on Michael Morpurgos The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips, this play explodes everything we thought we knew about the D-Day landings. With signature Kneehigh sorcery, 946 uses music, puppetry and foolishness to tell this tale of war, prejudice and love. Tender, political and surprisingly romantic, this story speaks to us all and will finally reveal the secrets the US and British governments tried to keep quiet.

About the Author
Emma Rice is Artistic Director of acclaimed theatre company Kneehigh.; Michael Morpurgo OBE, is an English author, poet, playwright and librettist, best known for his work in childrens literature. He was the third Childrens Laureate. He has written over 120 books, and has been published in over 25 languages. His childrens novel War Horse has been adapted for stage where it became a smash-hit success in the UK, before transferring to Broadway and Toronto. War Horse has also been adapted for screen, directed by Steven Spielberg and released in 2012.
